The second largest national park in Botswana, Chobe National Park covers approximately 4,080 square miles of land. Possessing one of the greatest concentrations of game on the African continent, the preserve is recognized for its enormous elephant population, currently estimated at about 120,000.
On a sunset cruise of the Chobe River, which runs along the northern border of the park, you can see elephants wallowing in the water, spot crocodiles lounging and hear the contented grunting of hippos. The area also contains more than 350 species of birds.
